Elwin H. (Butch) Duerr, age 63, of 803 Emerald Dr, Coldwater OH, died 12:35 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater, Ohio. He was born May 20, 1948 in Adrian MI to the late Elwin and Marie (Sheldon) Duerr. On March 13, 1968 he married Sharon (Schilling) and she died December 20, 2009. Butch is survived by two children Christine & Robert Jahn, of Kettering, Ohio and Doug & Andrea Duerr of Coldwater, Ohio, six grandchildren: Sarah, Katie, Gracie, Sophie, Curtis & Norah, four siblings, Shirley & Dick Sibert of Celina, Ohio, Linda & Roger LaRue of Ft. Wayne, IN, Tim Duerr of Indianapolis, IN and Kellie & Kurt Hoelscher of Celina, Ohio. He is preceded in death by a grandson Henry and a sister Charlotte Byers. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio, a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam, Coldwater American Legion, a Life member of the Celina VFW, Mercer County Veterans Board, Physically Challenged Bow Hunters of America, and a former member of the American Red Cross Board in Mercer County. Butch was retired from the Celina Post Office. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 02, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio. Burial with military rites provided by the Coldwater American Legion will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater Ohio.
