Elmer Schmiesing, age 88, of 641 Linden Ave, Celina OH, died 08:40 AM on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Gardens at Celina, Celina, Ohio. He was born November 13, 1922 in Eygpt OH to Anthony and Mathilda (Hoying) Schmiesing. On May 18, 1946 he married Dorothy (Stachler) Schmiesing and she survives in Celina, Ohio. Elmer is survived by a son Sam & Sue Schmiesing, Coldwater, Ohio, a daughter, Shirley & Ron Fisher, St. Marys, Ohio, five grandchildren, Jeff & Kristy Schmiesing and their children Samantha & Charlie, Columbus, Ohio, Sheri & Brian Knapke and their children, Addison & Austin, Columbus, Ohio, Whitney Schmiesing, Columbus, Ohio, Kelli & Kris Parrish, Columbus, Ohio and Brad Fisher, St. Marys, Ohio, a brother Donald & Joan Schmiesing, New Bremen, Ohio, a sister Viona & Virgil Wermert, Coldwater, Ohio and two sisters-in-law, Yolanda Schmiesing, New Bremen, Ohio and Jeanette Schmiesing, Minster, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Georgiana Wendeln, brothers, Walter, Gregor & Maurice Schmiesing, a sister-in-law Mary Ann Schmiesing and a brother-in-law Edward Wendeln. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Celina, Ohio, the mens society of the church, Celina Knights of Columbus and Celina Eagles #1291. Elmer was a retired farmer and was very active in the Mercer County Senior Citizens. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 05, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Church, Celina, OH with Fr. Ken Alt, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Celina Ohio.
