Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Brookhart, age 86, of Coldwater, died on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Celina Manor. She was born May 17, 1927 in Coldwater to the late Robert H. & Eulalia "Peg" (Bernard) Giere. On February 4, 1948 she married Dane Lamar Brookhart and he died in 1993. She is survived by eight children Curtis (Ruth) Brookhart of New Bremen, Craig Brookhart of Cleveland, Douglas (Marjorie) Brookhart of Dayton, Dale Brookhart of Dayton, Roy (Cris) Brookhart of Cary, North Carolina, Gail (William) Standhardt of Indianapolis, Indiana, Anita & Alan Olsen of Germany and Barbara (Chuck) Pinney of Lima, 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and a sister and brother-in-law Helen (Jay) Dotson of Tucson, Arizona. She is preceded in death by a grandchild, a great grandchild and a sister and brother-in-law Marian (Tom) Brown. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, St. Ann's rosary altar sodality and the church choir. She worked at the former Jutte's IGA and Kremer's Restaurant in Coldwater. She was a volunteer tutor and was involved in the placement of foreign exchange students. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Monday, September 23, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Friends may call from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday and 9 to 10 am on Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
