Effie E. Varvel, age 75, of Coldwater, died on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater. She was born April 18, 1939 in Chattanooga, Ohio, to the late Jesse & Nancy (Stoll) Fifer. She is survived by her second husband Harry Varvel, son a Joe (Stacy) Schwieterman of Coldwater, a daughter Ellen (Gerald) Heitbrink of Coldwater, step children Tom Varvel, Sharon Adams, Connie Allread, Sandy Comer and Steve Varvel all of Greenville, two grandsons Anthony & Bryan Schwieterman, twelve step grandchildren, twenty step great-grandchildren and two step great great-grandchildren, siblings Hugh (Ruth) Fifer, Convoy, June Laux of Ft. Recovery, Dale (Sierra) Fifer of Convoy, a sister-in-law Sally fifer of Defiance and a brother-in-law Eugene (Bonnie) Schwieterman of New Bremen. She is also preceded in death by her first husband Donald Schwieterman in 1989, a grandson Ron Schwieterman and siblings, James Fifer, Marlene (Bob) Presho, Andrew Fifer, John Fifer and Jim Fifer. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic church, Coldwater, graduated from Wright State University and worked at the former Huffy Plant in Celina. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
