Ed was a graduate of Marion Local in 1970, a member of the Precious Blood Catholic Church, served in the Air Force National Guard from 1970-1976 and a lifetime farmer. He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend. His love of his family, farming and the local Marion Local community could be heard often as he told stories with friends in the early morning at the Chickasaw Quik Stop. Of all the roles he held throughout his life, perhaps none brought him greater joy or suited him more naturally than that of Grandpa. It was a role he embraced wholeheartedly and one in which he truly excelled. Whether cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, treating his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to ice cream or taking his family out for a meal, he found happiness in simply spending time with them. He leaves a legacy of being a steady presence for those he cared about and always showing up for those he loved the most. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, Ohio. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 from 3 to 7 PM and on Thursday, October 29 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
