Earl H. Heyne

June 11, 1941 — February 5, 2023

Earl H. Heyne Sr., age 81, of St. Sebastian, died on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Divine Nursing and Rehab at Shane Hill in Rockford.  He was born June 11, 1941, in Celina to the late Frank & Alvina (Reier) Heyne.  On February 1, 1964, he married Ruth (Diller) Heyne, and she survives in St. Sebastian.  Earl is also survived by children: Cindy & Steve Bensman of Anna, Lois & Eric Braun of Napoleon, Judy & Doug Forsthoefel of Coldwater, Darlene & Tim Lyons of Versailles, Earl Heyne Jr. of Coldwater, Karen & Randy Kuess of St. Sebastian, Debra Dulle of Pandora, his “German Exchange Sons” Stefan & Simone Reinheimer, and Thomas Reinheimer, 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, as well as siblings and in-laws: Oscar “Shorty” Heyne of Bluffton, IN, Joyce Flinn of Celina, Harry Eckrote of Decatur, IN, Bob & Lynn Diller of Tennessee, Neil & Pat Diller of Ft. Recovery, Alan & Rosie Diller of Coldwater, Louie & Jeanette Diller of Ft. Recovery, Jim Remaklus of Coldwater, and Dan Diller of Ft. Recovery.

In addition to his parents, Earl is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws: Lester Heyne, Rosie Albright, Norma Jean Eckrote, Ralph Heyne, Nancy Heyne, Marion Diller, and Alice Remaklus.

Earl was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in St. Sebastian, Ohio.  He was a self-employed farmer, raising hogs and chickens, and was the owner and operator of Heyne Painting and Sandblasting.  Earl was a hardworking man who believed in being politically involved to promote the conservative values and hoping to preserve the nation for his grandchildren and future generations.  He enjoyed teasing and wrestling with his grandchildren and tormenting his morning coffee buddies.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, February 10, 2023, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4:00pm – 8:00pm on Thursday, February 9, or from 9:00am – 9:45am on Friday, February 10, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.  Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice, or the Mercer County Right to Life.  Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com
