Dorothy Irene West, age 95, of Celina, Ohio passed away gracefully in her home on Wednesday night, December 5, 2012. Born on September 07, 1917 in Darke County, Ohio she was the eldest of eight children born to the late Garnet and Daisy (Norris) Hanna. Dorothy married William R. West on September 14, 1952, whom she has survived since his death on September 3, 1998. Together they raised one son, Robert Allen, who will continue to live his life according to their lessons of humility and generosity.In addition to her beloved son, Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law Maureen and granddaughter Emily Anne. She also leaves behind two brothers, George and Dale Hanna, along with their wives Linda & Dotty. Dorothy was preceded in death by her other brothers Carl, Clifford and Vernis, and two sisters Virginia McGee-Yohey and Mary Meeds. There are also many nieces, nephews, and friends who will hold Dorothy's memory in the light and remember her acts of charitable, gentle kindness. A member of the Lighthouse Fellowship Church in Celina, Dorothy was also a proud member of the O.P.E.R.S. and was very involved in the Liberty Pentecostal Assembly's Children's Camp for many years.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday December 8, 2012 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, Ohio. Pastor Tony Richmond will officiate. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery in Celina. Friends may visit the funeral home from 7-9:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7th, and 1 hour before services on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Lighthouse Fellowship Church at 817 N. Sugar Street, Celina, Ohio 45822.
