Doris J. “Dodie” Hess age 61 of Maria Stein, Ohio died peacefully at 7:35 PM on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. She was born on May 19, 1960 in Coldwater to the late Louis “Bing” & Madonna (Hausfeld) Goecke. On March 31, 1984 She married Carl Hess in St. John the Baptist Church, Maria Stein. He survives in Maria Stein. She is also survived by children: Sarah Hess & Joe Walker, Columbus, Kevin & Ashley Hess, Maria Stein, Rachel Hess, Ridgewood, New York, Pat & Taylor Hess, New Knoxville, Lee Hess, Maria Stein, Allison Hess, Maria Stein, Jason Hess, Maria Stein, grandchildren: Leo, Etta, Avie & Arya, brothers & sisters: Jane & Scott Goeller, Kettering, Kathy & Tim Stonecash, Springboro, Tom & Sue Goecke, Rocky River, Ohio, Judy Townsend, Celina, Paul Goecke, Minster, Ken & Kerin Goecke, Middleburg, PA, Cindy & Dan Chappie, Clarksville, Ohio, Phil & Karen “Gidge” Goecke, Belle Center, Ohio, Carol and Dave Flora, Greenfield, IN, Tony & Lisa Goecke, Liberty, IN, Mike & Jami Goecke, New Knoxville, Marcia Homan, Minster, in-laws: Thomas & Karen Hess, Chickasaw, Dan & Mary Jo Hess, St. Rose, Dale & Lynne Hess, Montezuma, Leonard & Julie Hess, Bluffton, Ala & Sharon Hess, Maria Stein, Craig & Jenny Hess, Troy. She was preceded in death by infant sister, Mary Goecke, brother Fred Goecke, in-laws: John Townsend, Sandy Hess, Chris Hess. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, and a member of the Ladies Sodality of the church. She was also a member of the Mercer County Right to Life, Big Brother Big Sisters, Harbor House, St. Elizabeth Center and a former Special Needs Teacher. She was a graduate of Marion Local High School and of Wright State University. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Burial will take place in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2 PM to 8 PM Tuesday November 9, 2021 and from 9 to 10 am Wednesday.
