Doris is survived by her sister Aldyth Meyer of Delaware, Ohio, sisters-in-law Opal Barber of Celina, Ruth Ann Barber of Lima, four nieces Judy Clancy of Scottsdale, Arizona, Cynthia Schlichting of New Providence, New Jersey, Lana Gerber of Cincinnati and Kay Monus of Anchorage, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parent's three brothers John, Lyle, R. Dane Barber and her brother-in-law John Meyer.
Doris graduated from Celina High School in 1937 and was employed in the offices of the Celina Financial Insurance Company until she retired in 1984.she was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church for 65 years and very active in the Church Choir and Past President and Secretary of the United Methodist Woman. She was a member of the Celina Order of Eastern Star #91 for 50 year and served as the Secretary for 20 years and was a former Past Grand Matron. She was a member, Secretary and Past President of the Shakespere Club of Celina.
Funeral Services will be held at 2p.m. on Thursday Aug. 16, 2012 at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Dr. David R. Gerber officiating. Burial will follow in Mendon Cemetery. Friends may call 1 Hour before services at the funeral Home. O.E.S. services will be held at 2p.m. before the service on Thursday at the Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Celina or O.E.S. #91 of Celina. Condolences may be made at LHDfuneralhome.com.
