Donald L. Tangeman, age 85, of Coldwater, Ohio, died on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford. He was born July 6, 1927 in Coldwater, Ohio, to the late Louis V. & Philomena E. 'Minnie' (Eblen) Tangeman. On May 17, 1947, he married Lucille (Hartings) and she survives in Coldwater. He is also survived by three daughters, Pam Tangeman of Coldwater, Amy Harner of Celina, and Kim Barber of Tennessee, eight grandchildren, Jeff, Justin, Amber, Amanda, Alicia, Andrea, Brittney and Nathan, 13 great-grandchildren and in-laws, Kay Tangeman of Dayton, Bob Archer of Celina, and Marceil Hartings of Florida. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Haley, a brother, Gene Tangeman, sisters, Rosemary & Paul Lefeld and Annie Archer, and in-laws, Harold & Ruth Reindel, John & Roselyn Hartings, Dorothy & Jerry Gottschlich, Charles Hartings and Eugene Hartings. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, the Knights of Columbus, the Coldwater Eagles, and was a former member of the Coldwater Jaycees and the Mercer County Elks. He formerly owned Tangeman Cleaners in Coldwater with his brother Eugene and was a retired Vice President with the Peoples Bank Co. He was a graduate of Coldwater High School, served on the board for Mercer County Crippled Children and Adults, was a past president of the Coldwater Community Picnic (1974) and was instrumental in moving the Depot to the park. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Coldwater American Legion and V.F.W. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends may call on Monday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater.
