Dolores A. Hartings

Dolores Hartings, age 77 of St. Henry, died on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her home. She was born on May 12, 1940 in St. Henry to the late Herbert & Martha (Broerman) Clune.  Sh e loved her husband, Lester Hartings, of almost 55 years whom she married on September 16, 1961 and who preceded her in death on March 6, 2016. She is survived by 10 children: Joyce & Robert Steinbrunner, St. Henry, Dianne & Dave Trentman, Vandalia, Nancy Hartings, Minster, Lisa & Larry Dailey, St. Henry, Kevin & Pamela (Siefring) Hartings, Tipp City, Scott & Shelly (Nieport) Hartings, St. Henry, Jeff & Rebecca (Moorman) Hartings, Delaware, Amy & Bruce Buschur, St. Henry, Joe & Rachel (Dunatchik) Hartings, Worthington, and Ben & Lynn (Cahill) Hartings, Lewis Center; 40 grandchildren and one on the way, 2 step-grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren; siblings:

Linus & Sandy Clune, St. Henry, Paul & Janet Clune, New Weston, Urban & Peg Clune, St. Henry, Carol Beckman, Coldwater, Don Clune, Ft. Loramie, and David & Janice Clune, St. Henry; and in-laws: Ernest & Alfreda Hartings, Coldwater, Patricia Broerman, New Bremen, Betty & Jack Romer, St. Henry, Linus & Carol Hartings, Coldwater, and Myron & Patty Hartings, Mendon

In addition to her beloved husband Lester, she is preceded in death by two grandchildren; and in laws: Alice Clune, Evelyn & Louis Bertke, Virginia Hartings, Virgil Hartings, Thelma & Lawrence Broerman, and Alfred Broerman.

She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality, and the funeral choir at church.  She was an active volunteer at The Gardens at St. Henry and was a weekly adorer of the Blessed Sacrament at the Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics.  Dolores dedicated her life to raising and caring for her ten children, especially her daughter Nancy with whom she shared a special bond.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light and joy of her life. Sh e will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her .

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1:00 until 7:00 pm Monday and 9:00 until 10:00 am Tuesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dolores’ honor to the “Lester and Dolores Hartings Family Fund,” held at The Catholic Foundation. Proceeds from this fund will go to benefit Catholic causes that were dear to Dolores, including support of the Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics.
