Constance “Connie” Marie Grillot, age 70, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 7, 2025 in Versailles. She was born on December 4, 1954, in Coldwater, Ohio, to the late Jerome and Mary Ann (Dircksen) Seger. On April 20, 1974, she married William “Bill” Grillot in Minster, and he survives in Versailles. She is also survived by her children Renee Barga of Versailles, Ed and Janice Grillot of Versailles, Jason and Amy Grillot of Russia, Carl and Ruthann Grillot of Fort Loramie, Alan and Lindsay Grillot of Fort Loramie, Sarah and Josh Jacobs of St. Henry, Colleen Grillot of Vandalia, Mary Grillot of Miamisburg, and Christopher Grillot of Troy; by her many grandchildren Jessica (Joe), Sam (Andrea), Jack, Madalin, Meredith, Isabel, Charlotte Barga, Salem and Shelby Leach, Jake, Maggie, Victoria Grillot, Abigail Vogel (Noah), Jayden, Alise Grillot, Chloe, Naomi, Cyrus, Ariel Grillot, Christian Maxwell, Mason, Adrian, Evan, Dylan Grillot, Connor, Quincy, Violet, and Sunni Jacobs; and by her great-grandchildren William, Henry, Ivy, Warren Jackson, Agnes, Vernon, Walter Barga, Emmett Barga, and baby Vogel due in October 2025. She is also survived by her siblings Teresa and Jim Hamaker of Sidney, Doris Bilter of Oswego, IL, Bonnie and Steve Brunson of McCartyville, Lois Seger of Minster, Phyllis Collins of Minster, Laurie Seger of Minster, and Tina and Ted Riethman of Minster; and by her in-laws Jane Laloge of Piqua, Sharon Morelock of Piqua, Jim and Diane Grillot of Russia, Kathy and Mike Magoto of Russia, Marj and Ken Gaier of Minster, Chuck and Lisa Grillot of Fort Loramie, Elaine and Greg Bergman of Versailles, Carolyn and Phil Eilerman of Fort Loramie, Emily and Paul Turner of Fort Loramie, Marion J. and Bonnie Grillot of Versailles, Anna and Steve Wade of Russia, Theresa Grillot of Houston, Andy Grillot of Botkins, Steve Grillot of Fort Loramie, Julie and Dan Knoop of Sidney, Jenny and Andy Busse of Russia, Jackie and Tracy Frazier of Russia, Gina and Mark Hoying of Russia, and Beth Bell of Russia. She was preceded in death by her brothers Vernon and Ted Seger; brothers-in-law Bruce Bilter, Donnie Cisco, Joe Morelock, and Philip Grillot; and sister-in-law Becky Grillot. Connie was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She worked as a homemaker and as the office manager for her family’s business, County Door Systems, for more than 45 years. She loved gardening, canning, flowers, and crafts, but most of all she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, her genuine spirit, and the care she gave to others. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, with burial to follow in St. Valbert Cemetery. Friends may call at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Russia from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Friday, October 10.
