Clarence W. Siefring

Clarence W. Siefring age 93, of St. Henry passed away on Friday September 10, 2021, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.  He was born January 25, 1928, in Wendelin to the late August and Mary (Jutte) Siefring.  He married Dorothy A. (Grilliot) Siefring on May 20, 1952, at St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star, OH, and she preceded him in death on October 10, 2020.  Together they had three children: Linda & Dave Rauh of Burkettsville, Marvin & Sharon Siefring of St. Henry, and Elaine & Jim Harting of Coldwater; grandchildren Jackie & Tim O’Connell, Chris & Angie Rauh, Jaime & Jeff Knapke, Janel & Chris Pape, Janessa & Nathan Schwieterman, Mindy & Zak Schwieterman, Megan & Mark Baker, Angie & Jim Wourms, Matt & Kaley Harting, and Gina & Eric Weitzel, and 29 great-grandchildren.  Clarence was the last surviving member of his family.  He is also survived by in-laws, Stanley Goettemoeller of Maria Stein, Mary Huelskamp of Greenville, and Joan Grilliot of Greenville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by siblings, Hilda & Carl Wuebker, Rita & Richard Stachler, and Alma Goettemoeller, and in-laws Earl Grilliot, Herbert & Mary Jean Grilliot, Robert & Edna Grilliot, Lawrence Huelskamp,

He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and a past member of the former St. Wendelin’s Mens Sodality.  He was a 1946 graduate of St. Henry High School.  Clarence proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a cook.  He was a member of the Ft. Recovery American Legion.  He was a lifelong farmer and lived his whole life on his family farm in Wendelin.

A public mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday September 14, 2021, at St. Wendelin Church.  Burial with full Military Honors will follow in St. Wendelin Cemetery.  Due to Clarence’s request, there will be no public viewing.  Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice, 230 W.
