Clara J. Elking, age 84, of Coldwater, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at Stone Springs Nursing Home, Vandalia. She was born January 4, 1930 in Union, to the late Joseph & Margaret (Sleppy) Stine. Her husband of 52 years, Donald Elking, survives in Coldwater. She is also survived by five children, Carol & Steve Kennedy of Dayton, Joseph Elking & Denise Dobberstein of Miamisburg, Kevin & Nancy Igli of Arkansas, Sheryl & Doug Kuhn of Celina and Connie & Mike Fuller of Celina, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Helen Stine of Englewood. She was preceded in death by a brother Donald Stine. She was a member of the West Milton American Legion Auxiliary and the Celina Moose Auxiliary. A special thanks to all of Clara's caregivers at Stone Springs Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 5 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia. Burial will follow in Royal Oak Cemetery, Brookville. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday at St. Christopher Church, Vandalia.
