Chester E Mckinney

Chester E. McKinney age 73 of Russia, Ohio died on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.  He was born February 25, 1945 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Chester A. & Theresa (Rousseau) McKinney. On October 18, 1969 he married Mary Tumbush at St. Henry Church, St. Henry, Ohio.  She survives in Russia.  He is also survived by sons and daughters-in-law: William & Jennifer McKinney Sidney and John & Evonne McKinney, Russia, grandchildren: Kyle, Kaitlyn & Jenna, in-laws: Jerry & Karen Tumbush, Florida, Doris & Dave McKinney, Troy, Millie & Steve Schroeder, Sidney, Tom & Alice Tumbush, Coldwater, Helen & Tom Schoenlein, Versailles and Diane & Andy Heitbrink, Celina.  Chester was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, a graduate of Houston Schools in 1963 and of the University of Dayton in 1967.  He was an OHSAA registered official and a track official for over 40years.  He taught at Houston schools for 33 years and was a bus driver for the school. Chester was a lifelong farmer at his family farm that was established in 1846.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia with Rev. Steven Shoup celebrant.  Burial will follow in Houston Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.  Memorial donations may be made to the Russia Fire Department, Houston Fire Department and the Houston Rescue Squad.
