Charline E. Homan-Schmit, age 83, of 6982 Laketree Ct., Celina, Ohio, died at 12:45 AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. She was born August 20, 1928 in McCartyville, Ohio to August & Mary (Herbert) Barhorst. On April 20, 1949 she married Werner Homan and he died July 30, 1959. On January 28, 1967 she married Lavern Schmit and he survives in Celina, Ohio. She is also survived by eight children, Elaine & Allen Bohman of Osgood, Ohio, Kathleen & Roger Brunswick of St. Henry, Ohio, Werner & Lorie Homan of Noblesville, Indiana, Marvin & Geri Homan of Coldwater, Ohio, Marilyn & Glenn Simon of Tipp City, Ohio, Timothy & Joan Homan of Montezuma, Ohio, Gregory & Jane Homan of Celina, Ohio and Kevin & Lisa Schmit of New Bremen, Ohio, 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, six sisters, Clarissa Brinkman of Overland Park, Kansas, Dolores & Werner Bruggeman of Maria Stein, Ohio, Doris Bruggeman of Maria Stein, Ohio, Marilyn & Ralph Meyer of Coldwater, Ohio, Emily Subler of Frenchtown, Ohio and Martha & Richard Subler of New Bremen, Ohio, two brothers, Joseph & Wilma Barhorst of Philothea, Ohio and Clarence Barhorst of Botkins, Ohio, a sister-in-law, Clarissa Barhorst of Russia, Ohio, and a brother-in-law Ivo Braun of Trinity, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents and first husband, a brother, Herbert Barhorst, two sisters, Eloise Braun and Marjorie Rethman, four brothers-in-law, William Brinkman, Virgil Bruggeman, John Subler and Edward Rethman and a sister-in-law, Shirley Barhorst. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Christian Mothers of the Church, and the Coldwater V.F.W. Auxiliary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 03, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Montezuma, Ohio with Fr. Rick Friebel, officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery, Montezuma, Ohio.
