Charles J. Meier age 91 of Celina, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at his residence. He was born on December 29, 1934, in Carthagena, to the late Ben N. & Clara M. (Wendel) Meier. In June of 1994, he married Ruth Mary Meier, and she preceded him in death in July of 1999. On March 16, 2002, he married Mary (Reinhart) Meier, and she survives at their home in Celina.

Charlie is also survived by his children and their spouses: Daniel & Daren Reinhart of Diamond Head, MS, Anthony & Deb Reinhart of Loudon, TN, Patricia & Michael Hahn of Monroeville, IN, Richard & Karen Reinhart of Bryant, IN, Steven Reinhart of Woodburn, IN, Thomas Reinhart of Indianapolis, IN, and Teresa & Gary Richard of Wapakoneta, Ohio. Also surviving Charlie are 14 grandchildren, Samantha & Kevin Minnick, Kristen & Sean Murphy, Brittany Reinhart, Matthew & Brittany Hahn, Michael Reinhart, Jordan & Katherine Reinhart, Spencer & Ashley Reinhart, Chase Reinhart, Brad & Amanda Reinhart, Cady Reinhart Wolf, Bret & Madison Reinhart, Cali Reinhart, Alexis & Brandon Kennard, and Nicole & Evan Vogel, 17 great grandchildren, and one on the way, as well a sister and in-laws: Janet & Ron Stachler of Celina, Pat Meier of Seattle, WA, and Shelia Dorsten of Montezuma.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Charlie is preceded in death by siblings and in-laws: Mary Evelyn & Norbert Kohnen, Lucille & Lowell Loughridge, Rose Ann & Leander Puthoff, and Ernie Meier.

Charlie graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Celina and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was an army tank driver during the Korean conflict from 1958-1959. Charlie was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, and the Celina Knights of Columbus. He loved his family and enjoyed playing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, Ohio. Following the funeral mass, burial with military honors will take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Celina. Friends and family may call from 1-5pm on Sunday, October 4, or from 9:00 – 9:45m on Monday, October 5, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Those wishing to honor Charlie’s life may consider doing so by donating to Grand Lake Hospice 1122 E Spring St, St Marys, OH 45885.
