Carl G. Van Den Bosch, age 95, of Coldwater, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at his home in Coldwater. He was born August 10, 1927 in Cranberry Prairie, Ohio to Rudolph & Frances (Koesters) Van Den Bosch. He married Loudonna (Braun) on June 30, 1948 in Ft. Recovery and she survives him in Coldwater.
Carl is survived by daughter, Deborah & Nicholas Elking of Coldwater, daughter-in-law, Ann Van Den Bosch of Coldwater; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; niece and nephews Luella Wood, Herb, Marcus, and Dave Petitjean (who they helped raise ) ; and siblings and in-laws, Rita Heyne of Centerville, Carl & Judy Braun of Celina, Viola Braun of Coldwater, and Don Dues of Coldwater.
Carl is preceded in death by a son, Gary Van Den Bosch; a great-grandaughter, Gemma; siblings and in-laws, Earl & Marie Van Den Bosch, Esther & Linus Wehrkamp, Cleo & Marcus Petitjean, Marie & Werner Tobe, Edna & John Gdula, Esther & Odus Marchal, Marcene & Lewis Burris, Ivo & Eloise Braun, Linus & Virginia Braun, Virgil Braun, and Linda Dues.
Carl was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Carl was a veteran of the United States Air Force from 1945-1947. He was a former sales rep for McKirnan Brothers. He was a member of the Greenville Elks club, Coldwater Eagles and Celina V.F.W.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
