Carl B. Stammen, age 82, of Dull Rd, St. Henry OH, died on Wednesday, August 08, 2012 at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater, Ohio. He was born February 09, 1930 in New Weston, Ohio to the late Joseph and Josephine (Weis) Stammen. On September 12, 1953 he married Ruth M. (Huber) in St. Louis Church, North Star and she survives in St. Henry, Ohio. Carl is survived by eleven children Thomas & Kathleen Stammen of Burkettsville, Joan & Charles Hess of St. Henry, Deborah & Gregory Barga of North Star, Sandra & David Timmerman of Coldwater, Donald Stammen of Burkettsville, Susan & James Siegel of Ft. Loramie, Mark & Angela Stammen of Burkettsville, Carol & Keith Powell of St. Henry, Nancy & Jeffrey Davis of St. Henry, Richard & Nychole Stammen of Burkettsville and Joseph & Amy Stammen of Burkettsville, 31 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, siblings Alfons & Lois Stammen of North Star, Dolores Groff of Dayton, Marie Langenkamp of North Star and Eulalia & Elmer Klosterman of Celina, in laws Tillie Stammen of St. Henry, Sally Stammen of Burkettsville, Ruth Stammen of New Weston, Rita Stammen, Ft. Recovery, Mildred Siefring of Coldwater, Paul & Barb Huber of North Star, Betty & Tony Feltz of St. Henry, Frank & Diane Huber of North Star and Louis & Jane Huber of Versailles. He is preceded in death by a son Kevin Stammen, a granddaughter, siblings Edward Stammen and his wife Bernadine, Cornelius Stammen and his wife Annamae, Cyril Stammen, Virgil Stammen, Lawrence Stammen, Margaret Langenkamp and her husband Norbert, Coletta Stammen, Armella Stammen and Herman Stammen and in laws Ado Langenkamp, Esther Stammen, Joe Groff, Eleanor & Virgil Schoenlein, Melvin Stammen, Norb Huber, Dolores & Lavern Rindler, Herbert & Dorothy Huber, Dorothy & Othor Barga and Elmer Siefring. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Men's Holy Name of the Church, St. Henry Knights of Columbus and the North Star American Legion, he served in the US Army Carl was also a trustee for the Wabash Conservancy. He was a lifelong farmer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, August 13, 2012 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville, Ohio with Fr. Tom Hemm, officiating. Burial will follow with military rites in St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater.
