Carl was a faithful and devoted servant as a member of St. John the Baptist Parish, where he served as an usher and a server. After retirement he chose to attend daily Mass. He was a member of the Knights of St. John’s and helped with the monthly Chicken Fry. He was an Army Veteran having served in the National Guard. Carl volunteered countless hours at the Country Fest, the Shrine, Maron Local Schools, and for anyone who asked for help. Carl was known for his ability to fix just about anything, his clever inventions that solved everyday problems, and his exceptional woodworking skills. From furniture & clocks to bookshelves & clothing racks, his handcrafted creations are in so many homes that the family has lost count. He worked for Midmark Corporation for 44 years in quality assurance, beginning his career as a welder. After retiring, he made cabinets and doors for a local woodworker. An avid Flyer fanatic, Carl especially enjoyed watching his kids’ and grandkids’ sporting activities, plays, cheer competitions and whatever they were involved in. Carl lived by his father’s motto: “Leave it better than you found it.” He believed that “there’s always room for ice cream—it fills in the cracks.” A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, Ohio.
