Carl C. Dirksen, age 72 of Celina passed away at 5:15a.m. on May 3, 2013 at his residence in Celina. He was born on Sept. 20, 1940 in Osgood, Ohio to the late August & Henrietta (Stucke) Dirksen. On June 13, 1964 he married Mary Stelzer, who lives in Celina. Also surviving are his two sons & daughters-in-law Dave & Carrie Dirksen of Beavercreek, Dan & Amy Dirksen of Celina, four grandchildren Jenna Dirksen, Justin Dirksen, Ethan Dirksen, Kira Dirksen, sister & brother-in-law Barb & Jack Gels of Dayton and two sisters-in-law Margaret Dirksen of Osgood and Geri Dirksen of Skokie, Ill. He was preceded in death by his brothers Paul Dirksen and Donald Dirksen. Carl graduated from St. John High School in Maria Stien and St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Indiana. He served in the National Guard. Then was employed at the Celina Insurance Group for 30 years and retired from Cox Insurance Agency in Greenville, Ohio in 2006. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, where he volunteered in Eucharistic Ministry, Adult Altar Server and served on the Finance Committee. He was a 3rd Degree Knight, with the Knights of Columbus Council #1800 of Celina. Carl also held membership at the Celina Moose Lodge and the Celina American Legion Post #210. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday May 7th, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Ken Schnipke C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 3-8p.m. on Monday May 6th and on Tuesday Morning before 10:00a.m. at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
