Calvin L. Cotrell age 71 of Fort Loramie, Ohio died Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 7:20 PM at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born on March 20, 1950 in Piqua, Ohio to the late James Calvin & Erma (Brown) Cotrell. He married Victoria Poeppelman on August 31, 1968 in St. Patrick Church, St. Patrick, Ohio. She survives in Fort Loramie. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law Dawn & James Luthman, Russia, grandchildren: Alan & Jessica Luthman, Nathaniel & Heather Luthman, Dawson Luthman & Claire Larger, 9 great grandchildren and brother Samuel & Phyllis Cotrell, Fort Loramie. He was preceded in death by son: Jamie Cotrell, grandson Jay Luthman, 1 great granddaughter Madison Luthman, sister Sandra Cotrell and in-laws Martha & Alvin Poeppelman. He was president of the Newport Sportsman Club, former member of Shelby County Coon Hunters and the National Trap Shooters Association. He was a founding member of the Fort Loramie Rescue Squad and a 1968 graduate of Fort Loramie High School. Calvin was an avid mushroom hunter who took his secret spots with him. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport. A private family burial will take place in St. Michael Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia from 1 to 4 PM on Sunday, September 19, 2021 and from 9 to 10 AM on Monday.
