Betty J. Koppin age 78, of Anna, Ohio died on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at her home in Anna surrounded by her family. She was born on May 12, 1948 in St. Marys, Ohio to the late Dallas & Joseal (Brumbaugh) Sweigart. She married James M. Koppin on May 4, 1968 at Sacred Heart Church, McCartyville and he survives in Anna. She is also survived by son, James Koppin Jr., Fort Loramie, and daughter, Lisa & Doug Thomas, Fort Loramie, grandchildren, Josh, Meagan, Jenna and Sarah, great grandchild, Tatum, siblings: Anna Elsass, Sidney, Shirley & Craig Stengel, Jackson Center, Carol & Bruce Tracey, Huntsville, Linda & Larry Goode Sidney , in-laws: Carol Thompson, Brookville, Ohio, Dave & Robyn Koppin, Pensacola, FL, Linda & John Beatty, Madison, Ohio, Susan Fitzhugh, Cambridge, MD, Nancy & Dan McKee, The Plains, Ohio, Gary & Chris Koppin, Sidney, Scott & Tessa Koppin, Anna, Lee & Dawn Koppin, Anna. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws: Ivan Elsass, John Thompson and David Fitzhugh. Betty was a member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church, Anna and of the Fort Loramie Legion Auxiliary. She was a 1966 graduate of Anna High School and worked for the Anna Lumber Company for 24 years. She was the cochair of St. Jacob Operation Christmas Child and very active at St. Jacob Church and 2 bible studies. She loved spending time with her family and following her grandchildren’s activities. Funeral Services will be held on10:00 AM, Monday, July 27, 2026 at St. Jacob Lutheran Church, Anna, Ohio, with burial to follow in Pearl Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster, on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 1 to 5 PM and at ST. JACOB CHURCH, ANNA on Monday, July 27 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jacob Church, Operation Christmas Child. Condolences may be left at www.hogenkampfh.com.
