Bertha J (Baltes) Siegrist, age 89, of 3704 U.S. State Route 127 in Celina, passed away at 9:30a.m. on Jan. 15, 2013 at her residence. She was born on Mar. 28, 1923, in Versailles, Ohio to the late Leroy & Ella (Frantz) Baltes. On July 5, 1944 she married Cletus J. Siegrist, who passed away Nov. 12, 1987. Survivors include her sons & daughter-in-law David C. Siegrist of Celina, John R. & Barbara Siegrist of St. Marys, daughters Sharon M. & David E. Hirshfeld of St. Marys, Helen & Clark Rasneor of St. Mary's, four grandchildren, brother & sister-in-law Earl & Bernice Baltes of New Weston, and a her sister & brother-in-law Susan & Nelson Barga of Versailles. Bertha was preceded in death by her Parents, her husband, son Michael Siegrist, brothers Ralph Baltes, James Baltes and her sisters Zelma Ernst and Rita Condon. Bertha graduated from Versailles High School in 1941. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Carthagena and a member of St. Monica Sodality at the Church. She was a past member of the board of directors for the National Ballroom Operators. She formerly owned and operated the Carousel Ballroom in Celina for more than forty years with her husband. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday Jan. 17, 2013 at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Carthagena, Ohio, with Fr. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Carthagena, Ohio. Friends may call 1 Hour before services at the Church.
