Bernard “Sam” Doseck, age 96 of Ft. Loramie formerly of Botkins, Ohio, died at 7:56 AM on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, Ohio. He was born on April 30, 1927 in Lock Two, Ohio to the late Christian & Julianna (Behr) Doseck. He married Irene Yahl on October 5, 1948 and she preceded him in death on January 21, 1988. He then married Henrietta (Schmidt) Borcher on June 14, 1991 and she preceded him in death on November 27, 2015. He is survived by children: Linda Byrley, Phoenix, Arizona, Tom & Karen Doseck, Russia, Ken & Mary Doseck, Upper Sandusky, Donna & Mark Blanchard, Ayersville, Julie & Bob Steinke, Fort Loramie, daughter-in-law Teresa Doseck, Botkins, 26 grandchildren & numerous great grandchildren & several great great grandchildren; step daughters: Joan & Bob Montenegro, Oakwood, Linda & Bill Parker, Spring Valley, & 4 step grandchildren, numerous step great grandchildren brothers & sisters: Dorothy & Gilbert Braun, Houston, Mary Cartwright, Sidney, Wilbur & Linda Doseck, Wapakoneta, Fred Doseck, Clearwater, FL, Mike & Karla Doseck, Botkins; sister-in-law: Agnes Doseck. He was preceded in death by son John Doseck, granddaughter Rachel Doseck, son-in-law Bill Phlipot, brothers: Bob & Mary Doseck, Murlin & Marilyn Doseck, Donald Doseck, in-law: Connie Doseck, brother-in-law: Joel Cartwright. Sam was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins and a former member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. He was a church lector & Eucharistic Minister for the homebound at both parishes and was a CCD teacher for several years at Immaculate Conception Church. He was a member of the K of C, Wapakoneta, the Sidney Deanery, and a member of the Widow & Widower’s Club where he met Henrietta. He was a veteran of the US Navy during World War II. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, with burial to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins, Ohio. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 1 to 4 PM and on Monday, October 16 from 8:45 to 9:45AM.
