Bernard 'Ben' Muhlenkamp, age 84, of 523 E. Plum St, Coldwater, Ohio, died at 4:06 AM on Friday, December 23, 2011 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. He was born September 03, 1927 in Trinity, Indiana to the late Herbert & Asella (Miller) Muhlenkamp. On May 12, 1956 he married Kathleen (Staugler), and she survives in Coldwater, Ohio. He is also survived by four children, Jeff Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Ohio, Jeanine & Mark Bensman of Ft. Loramie, Ohio, Jim Muhlenkamp of Cincinnati, Ohio and Julie & Rick Heyne of Coldwater, Ohio, five grandchildren, Aaron Ritter, Jesse Bensman, Samantha Bensman, Nicole Heyne, and Adam Heyne, two sisters, Pauline Hess of Coldwater, Ohio and Dorothy & Louie Hoyng of Celina, Ohio, two brothers, Lavern Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Ohio and Gerald & Eileen Muhlenkamp of Celina, Ohio, three brothers-in-law, Alvin Saintignon of Celina, Ohio, Ernie & Rita Staugler of Coldwater, Ohio and Clarence Staugler of Coldwater, Ohio and six sisters-in-law, Josephine Muhlenkamp of Rockford, Ohio, Irene Meinerding of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Joan Staugler of Coldwater, Ohio, Germaine Steinbrunner of Montezuma, Ohio, Carolyn Staugler of Montezuma, Ohio and Joan Mescher of Celina, Ohio. He is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Saintignon, a brother, Robert Muhlenkamp, and brothers- and sisters-in-law: Linie Schoen, Paul Hess, Pat Muhlenkamp, Ralph Meinerding, Tony Steinbrunner, Ernestine Staugler, Mary Lillian Staugler, Helen Staugler, Paul & Irene Staugler, Bill Staugler, Charles Staugler, Bob Staugler, Ralph Staugler, Herbert Staugler and Margie Staugler. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea, a member of Coldwater American Legion #470, Coldwater V.F.W. Post #5135 and Coldwater Eagles Lodge #3025. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, Ohio. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater on Monday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice.
