Barbara A. Monnier

Barbara A. Monnier age 75, of Russia, Ohio died Thursday, August 3, 2017 at her residence in Russia.  She was born December 30, 1941 in St. Marys to the late Ray & Marie (Fischer) Schneider. On June 3, 1961 she married John Monnier and he died September 12, 2003. She is survived by three children: Chris & Tim Boerger of Ft. Loramie, Carla Monnier of Vandalia and Chad & Karen Monnier of Russia; five grandchildren: Ryan & Hannah Boerger, Mitchell & Allison Boerger, Ethan, Evan and Lauren Monnier; four great grandchildren: Colton, Ava, Vivienne and Lydia; siblings: Carol & Ken Olding, Judy & Todd Hilgefort and Phyllis & Roger Meyer; and in-laws: Gloria Schneider and Norris Monnier. She was preceded in death by a son Jonny; siblings and in-laws: Joe Schneider, Ruth Monnier, Helen & Firmin Paulus, Todd & Wilma Monnier, Mary & Gene Fisher and Rose Monnin. She was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, the St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality and the Versailles Garden Club. She was a longtime Beautician, enjoyed playing cards and following her grandchildren's activities. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, August 7, 2017 at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia with Rev. Martin Fox celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Remy Cemetery, Russia. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Versailles Life Squad or the Russia Fire Dept.
