Alvira B. Evers, age 86 of Chickasaw, Ohio died at 10:15 AM on Monday November 4, 2013 at Elmwood New Bremen. She was born on March 16, 1927 in Egypt, Ohio to the late William & the late Clara (Wehrman) Prenger. She married Othmar O. Evers on June 15, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Egypt, Ohio. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1998. She is survived by daughter Marlene & John Schmitmeyer, Versailles, & son Don & Jane Evers, New Weston, grandchildren, Douglas & Cathy Schmitmeyer, Kevin & LeAnn Schmitmeyer, Sarah & Robert Davis, John Jr. & Megan Schmitmeyer, Robert & Rebecca Evers, Thomas & Stephanie Evers and Jeff & Sara Evers, sister Viona Schmiesing, Egypt and sister-in-law Zita Enneking, Minster. She was preceded in death by infant children David & Doris & brother-in-law Harvey Schmiesing. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, Ohio, The Ladies Sodality of the Church, Church Funeral Choir & Church Sunday Choir, Minster F.O.E. Auxillary, volunteered at Mercer County Hospital and at the Retreat House. He was a housewife and helped on the farm and enjoyed gardening. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, with Rev. Tom Brenberger celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 6, and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 7. Memorial contributions may be made to the State of the Heart Hospice. Burial will take place in St. Rosa Cemetery, St. Rose, Ohio. Condolences may be made at www.hogenkampfh.com .
