Alvina Riethman age 88 of Maria Stein, Ohio died at 6:00 PM on February 12, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster. She was born May 10, 1922 in Maria Stein to the late Clem & Clara (Homan) Brandewie. On May 2, 1945 she married Clarence Riethman. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1990. She is survived by her children Mary & Harold Schmiesing, Sidney, John Riethman, Maria Stein, Margie & Lee Ozbun, Columbus, Charles & Deb Riethman, Maria Stein, Velma & Patrick Bulcher, Minnesota, Virgil Riethman, New Bremen, Mark & Diane Riethman, Ft. Loramie, Dorothy & Tom Gariety, Russia, Harold & Vicki Riethman, Havertown, PA, Dr. Joseph & Cheryl Riethman, Schoolcraft, MI, sisters-in-law Cecilia Eyink, St. Henry, Marie Riethman, McCartyville, brother-in-law Richard Harting, Dayton, 39 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein, St. Anne Ladies Sodality, past choir member and Religion Teacher. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Gene Schnipke celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Minster on Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
