Aloysius C. Meyer age 83 of Russia, Ohio died 1:30 AM Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. He was born November 4, 1929 in Willowdell, Ohio to the late Frank & Frances (Homan) Meyer. He married Dorothy L. Hoying on May 24, 1952 in St. Patrick, Ohio. She preceded him in death on July 28, 1990. He married Anna Spornhauer in February 1991 and she preceded him in death on December 27, 1997. He is survived by 4 daughters; Joan & Tom Wyen, McCartyville, Teresa & Bill Gariety, Wapakoneta, Rita & Steve Rindler, North Star, Eileen & Jim Prenger, Minster, 15 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren, brothers & sisters: Frieda & Gene Guggenbiller, St. Henry, Carl & Linda Meyer, Versailles, Paul & Mary Jean Meyer, Versailles, sisters-in-law, Connie Meyer, Sidney & Alma Meyer, Ft. Loramie & a special friend Jeanette Monnin. He was preceded in death by brothers Louis & Dolores Meyer, Herman Meyer & Jerry Meyer. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Newport, Ohio and a member of the Choir & Choir Director for many years. He was a member of Minster F.O.E. #1391 and had his own wedding band called the Meyer Orchestra and was currently playing in the Moms and Dads Band playing for local nursing homes. He was a lifelong farmer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Shoup celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 17 and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 18. Burial will take place in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
