Alice J. Gengler, age 85, of Coldwater, Ohio, died at 6:47 PM on Thursday, November 03, 2011 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. She was born November 29, 1925 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Edward H. & Elnora E. (Borgerding) Kemper. On June 28, 1952 she married James N. Gengler in St. Henry, Ohio, and he died February 12, 2005. She is survived by six children, Karen Hone of Celina, Ohio, James & Marie Gengler of Coldwater, Ohio, Steve & Jenny Gengler of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Ann & Mike Kendig of Lima, Ohio, Bob & Kathie Gengler of Covington, Ohio and Tracy Gengler of Celina, Ohio, 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister, Leola Grevencamp of Logan, Ohio and two brothers, Virgil & Betty Kemper of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Daniel & Janet Kemper of Coldwater, Ohio. She is preceded in death by a grandchild, a brother, Melvin Kemper, a sister, Luella Hoelscher, and in-laws, Mary Kemper, Hal Hoelscher and Gene Grevencamp. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio with Fr. Richard Walling, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, Ohio. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Coldwater on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice.
