Alfrieda F. Mescher, age 89 of 55 W. Sixth St. Minster, died at 8:05 AM Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Heritage Manor Nursing Center. She was born September 16, 1923 in St. Rose, Ohio to the late John & Bernadine (Leugers) Hartings. She married Paul R. Mescher on July 2, 1949 in St. Rose. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1991. She is survived by children; Dale & Lisa Mescher, Minster, Ron Mescher Celina, Mark & Rose Mescher, Englewood, Joyce Weekley & Carl Ferneding, Cincinnati, 4 grandchildren Kellen Mescher, Samuel Weekley, Bailey Mescher & Madison Mescher, brother and sisters; Leo & Bev Hartings, Shelby, OH, Alice Moorman, Minster, Doris & Gene Imwalle, Maria Stein, sisters- in-law Mary Maroon, Coldwater, Kathryn Lechleiter, Coldwater, Len Hartings, Versailles, Arlene Hartings, Ft. Loramie & Lorina Geiger, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her children Don Mescher, Doug Mescher & Sara Mescher, grandson Drew Mescher, brothers & sisters, Alfred, Elenora Knapke, Luella Osterholt, Richard, Wilfred, Norma Thobe, Ivo & Vernon, in laws, Edna Hartings, Leander Knapke, Walter Osterholt, Elton (Buck) Thobe, Alberta Hartings & Virgil Moorman. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She worked for the Minster Machine Company and Warren Five and Dime. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 Thursday, January 10, 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, Jan 9 and from 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Thursday January 10. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery.
