Schmitmeyer, Alberta Pauline, Age 86 of Minster, went to be with her Heavenly Father January 26, 2014. She passed away from natural causes at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minster. She was born in Coldwater, OH on February 12, 1927 to William and Christine (Post) Wellman. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Frederick Schmitmeyer, loving sister and best friend, Beatrice Leyes and brothers William and Bernard Wellman. She is survived by her three children and spouses: Steve & Linda Schmitmeyer of Valencia, PA, Joyce & Brad Keiser of Houston and Jenny & Stephen Hodge of Tipp City; eight grandchildren: John, Luke and Eleanor Schmitmeyer, Cassidy (& Bryan) Grimm, Robyn (& Kevin) Seger, Grant, Weston and Rachael Hodge, three great grandchildren, as well as a sister-in-law Velma Wellman and numerous nieces and nephews. Alberta attended St. Augustine Catholic Church and was a member of Catholic Ladies of Columbia. Alberta was a loving mother, homemaker and retired dairy farmer. She loved her family and also loved making people laugh with a good joke. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, shopping and spending time with friends and family. The family has requested a private burial and will have a memorial mass at St. Augustine Church in Minster on Friday Feb. 7, 2014 at 3:30 PM, Rev. Rick Nieberding and Rev. Mark Hoying presiding.
