Albert C. Weis, age 89, of Coldwater, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. He was born December 24, 1924, in Coldwater, to the late Joseph G. & Emma (Schlegel) Weis. On October 12, 1948, he married Arbeula C. (King), who passed away March 15, 1992. He is survived by six children, Ronald Weis of St. Marys, Victoria Cournoyer of Cincinnati, Melody Bergman of Celina, Robyn & Bruce Ganger of Celina, Stephanie & Dave Newbauer of Botkins, and Kimberly Myers of St. Louis, Missouri, fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Thelma Weis of Coldwater. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Cynthia Weis and Dawn Junod, a daughter-in-law, Carol Weis, a son-in-law, Ken Bergman, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, Rolland Weis and Norbert Weis, and three sisters, Mary Huber, Angeline Koverman and Rosie Meinerding. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, the Coldwater American Legion, and loved gardening, his family and barbeque. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during World War II and sold KNAPP shoes for 50 years. He was a fireman/boilerman/engineer at the former Pet Milk Plant in Coldwater. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 8 PM and on Saturday from 9 to 10 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
