Al F. Brockman age 79, of 12800 St. Rt. 29, Anna Ohio and 7 months out of the year in Lake Port, Florida, during his retirement years, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at his home in Anna. He was born September 3, 1931 in New Bremen, OH to the late Aloys L. & Alvina (Schmitmeyer) Brockman. He is survived by sister Virginia Helmstetter, Wapakoneta, 9 nieces and nephews, and friend and caregiver Ada Garza, Lake Port, FL. He was preceded in death by sister Mary Agnes Gelhaus & brother-in-laws Harold Gelhaus & Robert Helmstetter. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville, Minster F.O.E. 1391, an avid fisherman & golfer. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from Ross Aluminum Foundry, Sidney. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday April 6 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with Rev. John Tonkin celebrant. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery with full military honors by the Anna American Legion. Friends may call at the Sacred Heart Church from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday & 9 to 10 AM on Wednesday. The family requests donation be made to Wilson Hospice.
