Leonard “FAT” Ellis age 84 of 114 Garman Ave. in Celina, Ohio passed away on Monday March 15, 2004 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. He was born on Saturday March 13, 1920 to the late Harry & Ada (Smith) Ellis. He married the late Dorothy C. (Wappelhorst) Ellis on April 27, 1946. He is also preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Ellis and a sister Crystal Sherman. He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law; Diane & John Beamer of Celina, 2 Grandchildren; Mark & Dawn Beamer, Kerry Beamer, brothers & sisters-in-law Chalmer & Lou Ellis of St. Clair, MI., Orville Ellis of St. Marys, Veril & Lois Ellis of Van Wert, sisters & brothers-in-law Sarah & Bill Granger of Rawson, OH, Betty & Norm Shroder of Midland, MI, Dorothy & Jim Anderson of Bluffton, Marjorie & Russell Poor of Hoagland, IN. He was a U.S.Army Veteran having served During WWII. He was a member of the Mercer Co. Sportsmen Society, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Celina, and a member of the Disabled Army Veterans. He was retired from the City of Celina Street Department in 1984. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday March 19, 2004 at the Lehman Funeral Home in Celina with Rev. Bruce Head & Rev. Harold Lundsford officiating. Burial will follow in Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina, with Military Honors provided by the American Legion and V.F.W. of Celina. Friends may call at the Lehman Funeral Home from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. on Thursday March 18, 2004 and 1 hour before the funeral on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Celina Area Visiting Nurses & Hospice.
