Clarence E. ěJackî Donovan, 83, 9139 U.S. 127, Celina, died at 11:31 p.m. Nov. 1, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born July 7, 1920, in Mercer County, to Charles Sr. and Trecia Alexander Donovan. On June 22, 1940, he married Evelyn L. Strabel who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James (Elaine) of Cecil and Daniel (Janet) of Mendon; five daughters, Patricia (Leon) Reynolds, Brunswick, Carol (Lester) Etzler, Willshire, Kathleen (Robert) Schwartz, Decatur, Ind., Joann (Michael) Valentine, Rockford, and Cindy (Steve) Bronson, Warrenton, Va.; three sisters, Ruth Chaney, Mendon, Marie Howell, Celina, and Mary French, Coldwater; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Heindel, Celina, and Pauline Donovan, St. Marys; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, Floyd, Ralph, Charles Jr., Paul and Dale.
He retired as a foreman at New Idea, Coldwater, after 42 years of service and served with the U.S. Armyís 110th Mountain Division during World War II. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post, all of Celina, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5135, Coldwater.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Tom Arheit officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paulís Lutheran Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
