Wayne E. Rexroat, 81, 318 E. Livingston St., Celina, died at 3:57 a.m. Jan. 3, 2004, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born July 5, 1922, in Colfax, Iowa, to Richard and Alma Acton Rexroat. On April 17, 1946, he married Eunice Kile who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sue (Ron) Hammons and Cheryl (Dave) Lipp, all of Celina; a brother, Melvin (Flossie) of Pocatell, Idaho; two sisters, Dorothy (Darrold) Lauber, Brownsville, Texas, and Alma (Al) Daubenschmidt, Venice, Fla.; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Two brothers, Raymond and George, are deceased.
He formerly owned the Western Auto and Ace Hardware stores in Celina. A former Celina city councilor, he was a member of St. Paulís United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 210, both of Celina. He was president of the Colfax High School Class of 1941.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Robert Metheny officiating. Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
