Robert E. Tumbush, 78, 204 S. Brandon Ave., Celina, died at 10:10 p.m. Jan. 2, 2004, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. He was born July 31, 1925, in New Bremen, to Edward and Minerva Hegimier Tumbush. On Oct. 2, 1947, he married Elaine L. Laudahn and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Steve (Irene) of Madison, Wis.; three daughters, Kathy (Robert) Wilker, Coldwater, Lucy (Doug) Spicer, Van Wert, and Renee (Doug) Rennie, Cincinnati; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased are a daughter, Joan, and a sister, Jane Menker. He retired in 1983 as a sales representative after working 30 years at Mersman Brothers and 12 years at Pulaski Furniture. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, and a board member of the Mercer County Senior Citizens. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Revs. Ron Wilker and Tom Brenberger officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Celina Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina.Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice, and Home Health care of Mercer County.
