Elmer H. Gaier, age 98, of Fort Loramie, Ohio, died Sunday, January 4, 2004, at The Pavilion in Sidney, Ohio. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He attended Ft. Loramie Schools, and an operator of a threshing ring for 30 Yrs. He had interests in antique farm machinery, fishing and attending county fairs. He was awarded the Oldest Gentleman 3 years straight at the Shelby County Fair. He was the son of the late Charles Gaier and the late Sophia (Bernhold) Gaier. He married Rose A. Behr on September 14, 1932. She preceded him in death on September 25, 1990. He is survived by his Children, Patricia & Fred Frankenberg of Saint Cloud, Fla. and their children Robert & Beverly, Ronald, and Rosalie & Thomas Akers; Arthur & Evelyn Gaier of Versailles, Ohio, and their children, David & Tracey, Anthony & Donna, Daniel & Debra, Douglas, Kimberly; Roger & Beverly Gaier of Greenville, Ohio and their children, Regina & Robyn; Two Sisters,
Rose Roesser of Sidney, Ohio, Louise & Clarence Carey of Sidney, Ohio,One Brother, Robert & Marie Gaier of Sidney, Ohio, Fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by step mother Eleanor Overman Gaier, infant children Mary Lou & Donald; brothers Jacob, clemence, Christopher; sisters Mary Poeppelman, Irene Imwalle. Arrangements are being handled by N.J. Hogenkamp Sons, Inc., 61 South Hanover St., Minster, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 6, 2004 and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 7, 2004. Funeral service will be at St. Michael Catholic Church at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 7, 2004 , Rev. Steven Shoup celebrant. Interment will be at St. Michael Cemetery in Ft. Loramie, Ohio
