Bruenhilde Wissman Hoel, age 95 formerly of 626 N. Buckeye St. Celina Ohio passed away on Dec.23, 2003 at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford. She was Born on Dec.6, 1908 in New Breman, Ohio, the Daughter of Gustave and Ida (Waterman) Wissman. She attended the New Breman Schools; attended international business school in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and she was a graduate of Miami University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She started teaching in Celina in 1931 and taught First grade for 30 and one half years. She was a Part time employee of the Dwight Mercer County Public Library for ten years following her retirement from teaching. She married Homer R. Hoel on June 14, 1938. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was an active member of the Shakespear Club; a charter member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society; a member of the University Women’s Club; a member of the ORTA, a member of the Celina Eastern Star, Serving as Worthy Matron in 1945; a member of the Retired Teachers of Mercer County and the Retired Teachers Asssociation of Ohio. Her husband Homer died in February 1973 and She lost a Brother Harold Wissman in October 1992. She is survived by her son, David H. Hoel and a granddaughter, Yvette R. Hoel, a brother Carl Wissman and his Wife Janet of St. Marys and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday Dec. 27, 2003 at the St. Pauls United Methodist Church in Celina with Rev. Kathleen Hayes officiating, burial will follow in North Grove Cemetery in Celina. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. on Friday Dec.26, 2003 at the Lehman Funeral Home in Celina.
