Donald F. Thieman, age 74, of Minster, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at his residence in Minster, Ohio. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, Minster, American Legion Post 387, Minster, Kiwanis, Minster, The Farm Bureau, Board of Director at Minster Bank for 12 years, former member of Minster Local School Board. He Army Veteran serving in Europe. He was a lifetime farmer and former President of the board of the Minster Locker. He was born June 23, 1933 in Minster, Ohio to the late Charles Thieman and the late Gertrude (Fortman) Thieman. He married Joan Bensman on November 10, 1956. She preceded him in death on September 21, 1989. He married Verna Westmark on September 25, 1993. She survives in Minster. He is also survived by a daughter Maria & Brian Schwieterman of New Bremen, Ohio, son-in-law Edward Dircksen of Minster, Ohio, step children, Judith Hostiuck, Cincinnati, Ohio, Patricia Westmark & Tony Daykin, Houston, TX, Deborah & Rick Hostiuck, Cincinnati OH, Carolyn Westmark, Richmond, VA, Christine & Ray Hedger, Cincinnati, OH, grandchildren Mark & Erin Dircksen, Tiffin, OH. Cindy & Nick Nelson, Minster, OH, Nick Dircksen & Renee Dircksen, Minster, OH, Luke & Ben Schwieterman, New Bremen, OH, brother John Thieman, Rockport, TX, brother-in-law Bob Callahan, Darien, CT. He was preceded in death by daughter Susan Dircksen, stepson Steven Westmark, sister Mary Ann Callahan. Arrangements are being handled by N.J. Hogenkamp Sons, Inc., 61 South Hanover St., Minster, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2008 and from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM Saturday, January 19, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 19, 2008, Rev. Rick Nieberding celebrant. Interment will be at St. Augustine Cemetery in Minster, Ohio. Full Graveside Military Honors by the Minster Firing Squad. Memorials may be made to Auglaize County Chapter of the American Cancer Society and Tri-County Hospice.
