Buening, Lester G., age 80, of Saint Henry, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at The Gardens at St. Henry, Ohio. He was born June 25, 1927, in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Aloys and Leona (Huelskamp) Buening. He married Betty Lou (Ahlers) Buening on April 26, 1952 in St. Henry, Ohio and she survives. He is survived by sons: Gary (Juanita) Buening of Cassella, Ohio and Dan (Mary Jane) Buening of Burkettsville, Ohio, a daughter Joanie (Nick) Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, a brother Lavern (Agnes) Buening of Coldwater, Ohio, a sister Martha (Fred) Kremer of West Lafayette, Ind.; sisters-in-law Kay Buening of Coldwater, Ohio, Betty Jane Buening of Coldwater, Ohio and Armella (Gerald) Yaklin of Texas and brothers-in-law Bud Ahlers of Burkettsville, Ohio and Dave (Judy) Ahlers of Saint Henry, Ohio. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, a brother Gerald; brothers-in-law Albert Buening and Joseph Ahlers and a sister-in-law Catherine Ahlers. He attended St. Henry Church and was a Veteran of the US Army serving in WWII, a member of the Coldwater V. F. W. Post 5135 and Fraternal Order of Eagles #3025 Coldwater, Ohio. He retired from the former New Idea plant in Coldwater after 42 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Henry Church on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be at Hogenkamp Funeral Home - St. Henry on Friday, January 4, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday January 5, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Henry Cemetery, in St. Henry, Ohio. The Coldwater V.F.W. Post will conduct military rites at the cemetery.
